KIKO: Some we win, some we lose

Hey everyone! KIKO is an Italian makeup brand that is very popular, here in Portugal. Their products are definitely cheaper that high-end products and the quality of the products is very promising!  Of course, like every other brand, it has its lows and highs. Today, I’m going to share one of my favourite products from KIKO and the one that I haven’t enjoyed much.

Mostly about face products, I’m quite picky since I can’t stand using heavy foundations or BB creams. A few months ago, I got KIKO’s BB cream, hoping that it would give me a little tan and some coverage. Unfortunately, the product didn’t really work for me… Everytime I use it I feel like my skin looks very unnatural and heavy (besides that fact of being a BB cream). Another negative aspect about it is the fact that it’s not a good base for your makeup at all. After applying it, I usually would put some concealer under my eyes. I don’t know if it’s only the combination of it with the Fit Me concealer by Maybelline, but those two don’t get along. The concealer gets really tricky to blend, leaving the unpleasant cakey effect. I eventually stopped using it, but I really hope at some point I will be able to use it…

      

Now on to my favourite makeup item: mascara! As I said before, I’m very picky and, if I don’t like a product I’m the first to admit. My idea of a perfect mascara is one that gives my lashes length, volume and sass!        

I have been looking for the perfect mascara for ages and I think I finally found the one. I’m talking about the “Ultra Tech Curve” mascara. There isn’t a thing I dislike about this product. Everytime I use it, my lashes get super duper long and voluminous, without any clumps! The formula is also amazing! It isn’t too thick or too thin and the wand isn’t like the others I’m used to. First of all, it’s made of plastic (which isn’t my go-to wand at all!) and secondly, it’s curvy. At the beginning I was a bit intimidated about it but after sliding it through my lashes, that feeling vanished completely.

       

That being said, I must say, KIKO is a great brand and you can find amazing products for amazing prizes! Thanks so much for reading!

♥ Happy Curls ♥

Hey everyone! For me, especially during Fall and Winter, it’s super important to keep my hair feeling soft and hydrated. It’s also a must for me to keep it with texture and with my curls defined. My hair isn’t really curly, but it’s very wavy, and my waves tend to get crazy with the weather…  So today, I’m going to chat about a product that I’ve been absolutely loving, and that has been saving my curls from the crazy humidity!

I’ve known Loreal’s hair products for ages now, and they’ve never failed me. The Loreal’s ‘curly contour’ hair mask is no exception. I’ve bought this  a month ago, when the school started, and let me tell you: it’s been doing a really good job! The product has a great texture, very rich and thick. It’s definitely the most nourishing and softening hair mask I’ve ever bought! After applying it and rinsing it off, you can observe the results almost immediately: you’re hair will feel soft and you’re curls will be really defined. Another great thing about this hair mask it’s its fantastic scent! The only problem about this product it’s the fact that it isn’t very cheap but, since the the package is quite big, it lasts a long period of time.

To sum it up, I must say that I definitely recommend this product, it’s the best hair mask I’ve ever tried so far without a doubt!

♥ Summer Essentials ♥

Hey everyone! Summer is definitely my favourite season of the year! What’s there not to like? The weather gets warmer, the skin gets darker, nights get longer, life gets better! So today, I’ll show you my favourite products, that I always need during the summer.

Let’s start with my beach bag and bikini.  They’re both from lefties and they’re adorable! The bag is navy-blue and it has a really pretty floral print. The bikini is bright yellow and it will look awesome when I’m tanned! My floppy hat is from a local store.

Next, we can’t forget to protect our skin from the sun! Here I have my La-Roche Posey sunscreen and lotion. I just bought them recently so I’m still testing, but I’ve been enjoying them very much.

During the summer, is very important to take care of our hair, since the sea and sun tend to dry it up. So, to protect my hair from the sun I use the Tendence spray, a portuguese brand. This product smells amazingly and does a really great job! I also use a Tresemmé serum, that I absolutely love! To give a bit more volume and texture to my hair, I use the Batiste’s ‘tropical’ dry shampoo.

I also love painting my nails, with fun summery colors, as this one. This nail polish is from Barry M and it’s definitely perfect! And we can’t forget a lip balm, of course! My favourite at the moment is ‘My lovely lip balm’ by H&M. It is great: has an amazing mango and coconut scent and  it’s very moisturizing!

♥ The NIVEA duo ♥

Hey everyone! Taking care of my skin, especially of my face is a very difficult task for me. So, today, I’m chatting about two face products that I’ve been quite enjoying. I’m talking about the Nivea’s cleanser and moisturizer.

First things first,  let’s talk about the cleanser. It has a really nice texture, just like a gel. It’s also very foaming when you apply it to your wet face. This cleanser has an excellent scent, very fresh and natural. I usually use it at night time, to remove my makeup and freshen up my face!

About the moisturizer, I must say is one of my favourite! I’ve been using it for several years now, and it has never disapointed me. It has no scent, an amazing texture and it leaves your face feeling like a baby’s butt ( in a good way ahah )!

I absolutely love these two products,I believe I will be repurchasing them very soon. I hope you guys enjoyed reading this, have an amazing week! See you soon ♥

♥ Home Spa ♥

Hey everyone! We all have those days, when we get home and we just want to take a nice, hot shower for a relaxed evening. So, today I’m chatting about some products that I absolutely love to use for these occasions.

I’m talking about the Ritual’s ‘Zensation’ shower gel and body lotion, and the ‘Blossom Water’ relaxing body mist, a perfect combination.

All of this products have an amazing, scent, very fresh and natural. The shower gel has a wonderful foaming sensation and the body lotion is incredibly moisturizing! I also love the body spray, it’s very long lasting!

So, if you’re looking for a incredible and very relaxed bath, I highly recommend this products. I hope you liked this post and I see you guys soon!

♥ Soft Skin ♥

Hey everyone! So, the hot weather is here, and we definitely will be showing a bit more of skin. I personally love wearing, tops, skirts, shorts, it feels so much better! There’s only one problem, the dry skin we got left after winter. To give our skin that  soft feel, it’s super important to moisturize!

For me, it’s very hard to moisturize everyday . That’s why choosing the right lotion it’s the key to keep up with the routine. In my opinion, the perfect moisturizer is one that has a natural sense, neither to sweet, or to strong, a lovely texture and without any sparkle (yes, for years I’ve used a sparkly lotion, it wasn’t very nice, but it made me feel like a princess ahah ).

Recently I’ve been using the Greenlands’ ‘milky yoghurt & cucumber’ body lotion. For those of you who don’t know, Greenland is a brand from Netherlands that develops bath and body care products based on natural and organic ingredients. I absolutely love this product, and everything that I own from this brand. The sense is absolutely incredible, it’s so fresh and natural! It also has a lovely milky texture, that blends nicely to your skin, moisturizing in a brilliant way! What I also love about this product is the packaging. It has a pump , and in that way we can control the amount of lotion that we want to take!  I usually moisturize after I take shower, in that way I usually don’t forget!

♥ The power of the LASHES ♥

Hey everyone, how are you doing? Today, I’m going to chat about one of my favourite  beauty-wise topics: lashes! For me, a long, flirty pair of lashes really improves any person’s self-esteem, and that’s why applying mascara is an essential step on my everyday makeup routine.

Currently I’ve been using the Benefit’s “BadGal Lash” mascara, and I’ve been enjoying it very much! This product was actually bought by my Mom, when she went to Sephora, but as she didn’t really like it, she gave it to me. Everytime I use it, my lashes get really voluminous and long! I just love it!

Of course this is not the perfect mascara on the summer, since it’s not waterproof… Another disadvantage of this mascara is the fact that it is a bit expensive… I don’t think I will purchase it again, but it’s a great mascara, I really like it.
